Dear friends
August marks the end of the Methodist church year and we say goodbye to Amy, our Minister, and her husband, Tim. Amy has been a part of church and community life in the Tadcaster circuit for the last four years. She has been involved in worship, work in schools, messy church, police chaplaincy and many other memorable events such as a “live” nativity and a plough service in a barn on a farm! We will miss Amy but wish her well and ask God’s blessing on her new ministry in army chaplaincy. We welcome our new Minister Revd Mark Stennett, his wife Becki and son Reuben to Tadcaster. Mark is currently serving in the Lincoln North circuit. They are all looking forward to the move “up North” and becoming part of our community. Amy’s farewell service will be at Tadcaster Methodist church at 3.30pm on Sunday 2nd August, followed by refreshments at Magnets Social Club. Mark’s welcome service will be at Tadcaster Methodist church on Sunday 30th August at 10.15am. Everyone is welcome to join with us at both these events. This time of year may see changes for many of us either in work, accommodation or employment, all of which bring an element of uncertainty. The one thing that does not change is God’s love and care for us all. The hymn says:
“Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not, great is Thy faithfulness Lord unto me”
We can all be sure that whatever challenges or adventures are before us, God will go with us.
God bless. Janet, Christine, Ann and John
